Our Story
Located on South Bass Island in Put- In- Bay Township, the Yellow Tree Bed and Breakfast is a beautifully restored home built in 1887. The business was inspired by a mother-daughter vision.
Yellow Tree is run and operated by a local Island family. We promise a laid back experience, where you can feel like you're up visiting friends or at your own home away from home, instead of checking into a hotel.
We all love to travel and have visited places all over the world. Many times we find ourselves looking for an authentic experience and end up doing what the locals do. It is our hope to guide you the way so many have guided us.
Whatever experience you are looking to have, our knowledge about the area, the stories we love to share, and our favorite spots to recommend will help make your experience memorable and ensure you depart with a story of your own.
Outside of running the Yellow Tree, Marisa, daughter, works at a few local restaurants. Stop by the Goat Soup and Whiskey to say hi. She enjoys kayaking, sampling island wines, riding her bicycle on warm Put-in-Bay days, soaking up the sun at one of the pools downtown, and working on her art in the studio behind the house. You can find Marisa's partner, Corey at the local Irish Pub. He helps out at the house and is great for suggestions. Visit him for a pint and a story or two.
Linda, mother, teaches at the local Put-In-Bay school. Growing up, her family owned a summer cottage down the road nicknamed "The Yellow Tree" which they painted yellow so they could see it on the moonlit walks home at night. She now lives there year round with her husband, Rudy.
Rudy and Linda met on the island years ago when Rudy was working on Put in Bay for the summer.
